Golf Bags - Choosing the Right Bag
For those who golf on a regular basis, a golf bag that is a
high quality proves to be an invaluable investment. If you
prefer to walk the course instead of riding in a cart, then you
will quickly realize that a golf bag that is high in quality is
the best way to go! Today it is highly recommended that you
walk the course whenever possible. During your golf game, you
will want a golf bag that is durable yet comfortable.
Tour Bags
There are several sizes of tour bags to choose from
when you go shopping for a quality golf bag. Have you ever had
the opportunity of watching a professional golf game in person
or on the television? Have you noticed the size of bag that the
pros use? They usually make use of giant leather tour bags.
These bags are waterproof and are equipped with very large
pockets that are able to hold just about anything that a caddie
may need during the golf game.
These tour bags are quite heavy, and many of them weigh over
50 pounds. You usually see someone else carrying the pros golf
bag. Many of the Caddies are paid quite well, and some of them
earn a percentage of their players winnings at a
tournament.
Cart Bags
The average golfer will usually not need a big, heavy 50
pound tour bag just to carry around his clubs at a local golf
course. The next size of golf bag is more down to earth and
ideal for the normal, everyday player. This bag is known as a
cart bag.
The makeup of a cart bag is usually nylon and leather. They
are typically made to fit on a golf cart. You must make note of
the fact that even cart bags are a little on the bulky side,
and it would be best to use this type of bag if you plan on
using the golf cart while you are on the golf course. A
personal favorite is the carry bag which is described
below.
Carry Bags
Even though cart bags are ideal, a better solution for a
recreational golfer is the carry bag. These bags are much
smaller and do not have the weight that a tour bag and a cart
bag have. With cart bags, you are able to carry all of your
golf clubs, your golf balls, and a few accessories. That leaves
little room for anything else.
Carry bags come in a wide variety of designs, sizes and
prices. These bags come in a smaller size for children. For
those adults who are looking for a little 'extra', a deluxe
model carry bag can be picked up that has many more pockets and
even a backpack strap that helps you hold onto your bag with
both shoulder and is quite comfortable.
With carry bags, there are all sorts of price ranges. You
may get a low-quality bag for $40 to $50. If you would happen
to find a cart bag in that price range you would find that it
would not have aesthetic appeal and would not be very
comfortable. If you only plan to play golf a few times a year,
then a cheap carry bag may be for you. However, it would be
better to invest approximately $100 to have a high-quality
carry bag.
To sum up, then, there are three main types of golf bags:
the tour bag, the cart bag and the carry bag. Which one will
you choose?
